During the past weekend, I had the privilege of being involved in organising the Platypus Initiative’s first ever conference, PlatypusCon, at the aMBUSH Gallery in Central Park, Sydney.
Thankyou to the organising team, who have put in countless hours and many a sleepless night to pull this event together.
Thankyou to all of our speakers and volunteers, without whom this would have not been possible.
Finally, a heartfelt thankyou to the Platypus Initiative community, and all 200+ of you who turned up to take part in this event, and make it as excellent as it could be.
In doing this, we consciously took a risk in turning against the trend of providing a series of “lecture-theatre” style talks, and opted for a 100% participatory workshops. It is said that a man who wishes to lead the orchestra must turn his back on the crowd, and sometimes, this works.
May 2017 lead us to grander things yet…
