SecTalks 2 – Challenge Download

Recently, OWASP Sydney has been working with SecTalks to bring new and interesting content to the Sydney security space, including more traditional presentation-style content, and monthly security challenges. Last night, we ran the second of these sessions.

Thanks to everyone who came along, and contributed to making this event a most tremendous success which exceeded expectations – and apologies we weren’t ready to provide the best experience catering-wise (mea culpa – but valuable lessons learned!).

You can find the wargame below, the idea is to find both flags within the file (requires a 64-bit Windows or Linux system – not because the challenge requires 64-bit, but because I’m an idiot and compiled some stuff without thinking about compatibility).

This challenge is meant to be solved in approximately one hour with no special tools, and two teams participating in the challenge were able to do so in different (and equally valid) ways. In a few days, I’ll do a write-up of the solution =).
